Pianocheck has some of the best rates in Melbourne; servicing Melbourne to Warragul.
The usual fee is $160. Minor regulation and voicing is included at no extra cost with all tunings.
Pianos which have not been tuned for a long time may get very flat in which case the piano may need to have a first tune called a "pitch raise" before it can be tuned properly. A pitch raise allows the piano to settle enough at the higher pitch to allow a fine tune to settle in. If the piano needs to be tuned several times there will be an extra small charge for pitch raising.
Piano Repairs and Restoration
Minor repairs can be carried out when the piano is tuned. The charge for this is the cost of the parts plus an hourly rate of $55 for labour.
Most minor problems on pianos can be repaired quickly and cheaply. If the piano requires major repairs or significant restoration work it will need to be sent to our repair workshop. We will always discuss any repair work required on your piano and continue only on work that you have agreed to.
Minor regulation is included as part of your tuning at no extra cost. A full regulation of your piano is a time intensive process and is charged by the hour or the day. The amount of work to be done very much depends on the condition of the piano. A regulation is usually required if your are finding the piano difficult to play or uneven in its touch and response. Please contact Cliff to discuss what regulation is appropriate for your piano and to arrange a quote.
Minor touch ups to voicing are included as part of your tuning at no extra cost. If the tone of your piano is becoming harsh, dull or uneven then voicing may be required. Your piano MUST be regulated correctly prior to voicing.
